AUTHENTIC INTERPRETATION means to play music especially meant for this type of instrument, and to spare no effort trying to perform every work as the composer would expect, including ornaments, syncopated rhythms and organ stops. As C.D.V. has been doing for over two decades, the whole recital will be performed with Baroque fingerings. playing scales crossing long fingers rather than the thumb. This may increase the difficulty in some works, but the result is a very controlled articulation, the main expressive device when playing Baroque music on a keyboard instrument.
